The basis for the exterior of this hotel was to create a second skin of undulating solar fins, which create unique vistas in an industrial area of Casablanca, and an ever changing patina of colours as you move around the building. The pivoting timber fins are white on one side, and naturally finished on the other. As they are set from one face to another (0-180°), they emerge as a blanketing patterns of white, or as a textured pattern of varying timber.
My role in the project was to propose, develop and present the sketch design.
